General Services Documentation/Communication Memo “I publish, what are my rights ? “

Memo “I publish, what are my rights ? “

The memo “I publish what are my rights ? ” is the realization of a recommendation of Comité d’Orientation et Suivi (COS) of the Observatoire des métiers et de l’emploi scientifique (OMES) following the study on best practice in scientific and technical information at CNRS. It answers to specific questions posed by the authors of scientific publications on their rights. In particular, it draws attention to the importance of reading the contract (transfer of rights) proposed by the publisher before signing.
It was created by a project group composed of a representative of the Direction de l’information scientifique et technique (DIST), 3 IST professionals and 2 researchers. It has been approved by the Direction des affaires juridiques (DAJ) and the Comité d’éthique (COMETS) of CNRS.
