A collaboration bringing together LabCom P2R (CENBG / Carmelec company) associated with IPHC (IN2P3) and IPCMS (INP / Unistra) and EDF, tested on the Fessenheim site a brand new boron detector designed to flush out any plugs, which sometimes obstruct the pipes of the primary circuit of nuclear reactors.
The objective is to precisely locate the traffic jam in order to limit the maintenance of the circuit to the shortest possible section. This test was a first. It has given good results making it possible to prepare a more advanced prototype in 2021 (miniaturization, robotics, ergonomics) in collaboration with EDF.
