Department Magnetic Objects on the NanoScale (DMONS)
The Department of Magnetic Objects on the NanoScale (DMONS) has a high level scientific activity on spintronics: spin-dependant electronics, which is sensitive to the magnetism of materials, combining metals, oxides, organic molecules, etc.
Another strong orientation of the department is the study of low dimension magnetic materials (0D nanoparticles or dots ; 1D wires ; 2D thin films, multilayers or superlattices); in particular, we evidence the effects of size reduction and of low dimensionnality.
The interactions between experimentalists (13 researchers) and theoreticians (9 researchers) are highly developped.
